Do you just shake your head after you have heard the news?

Aside from the daily updates on the pandemic, we often hear news about robberies, kidnapping, and murder.

According to a news report from Local Memphis, violent crime has hit almost all their community.

They also stated that as of December 06, 2021, Memphis Police Department had already reported 310 homicides. That doesn’t include other crimes, such as assault cases and robbery.

It’s sad news, and, understandably, the people living in this area are afraid.

That’s why one Memphis woman decided to upload her beautiful experience.

She wanted everyone to know that her city has kind and incredible young people.

Olivia Jennings wanted her post to change what people think of her city, and here’s her story.

Jennings was standing at the Marathon Gas station on Summer Avenue last December 28, 2021, when she started talking to the two young men in front of her.

They talked about the usual stuff, but then she started joking around.

She talked and joked about how much orange juice the young men purchased.

Then, to her surprise, one of the men told Jennings that he would buy her gas.

Of course, Jennings thought he was joking.

She proceeded to pay for her gas and pulled out her credit card. But the young man insisted that he really wanted to buy Jennings gas.

Jennings allowed the young man to do so.

He handed her $20 to pay for her gas. Of course, Jennings felt grateful and touched by the young man’s action.

It’s very seldom to see such respectful, sweet, and kind young men nowadays.

So before he and his friend went home, Jennings asked if she could take a photo with him.

The young man politely said yes, and that’s when she told him that she wanted to share her beautiful experience.

According to Jennings, Memphis has been all over the news because of all the crimes being committed in her city.

“The young man is about the same age as my son,” said Jennings in her interview with WREG. “I would just like to know if he did something kind, people would at least say something. You know, you’re a good kid. They are doing the right thing.”

She felt that it was just right that she would let the young man know how much this means to her.

Jennings also wanted the people who will see her post to know that Memphis has some very kind young men.

She posted her photo and experience last December 29, 2021, and indeed, the feel-good post went viral.

Most comments talked about how happy they were because of the good news, and they all wanted to know who the young man was. They did find out that his name is Amir.

They are still trying to find out more information about him.

“It was absolutely great for everybody coming together saying yes, you are right Memphis has good youth,” Jennings said. “No matter what you say, we’ve got them. They are everywhere.”
